BEACHWALK HOMEOWNER ASSOCIATION

BEACHWALK FENCE SPECIFICATIONS

MATERIALS:

  • 4"X4" pressure treated posts
  • 2"X4" pressure treated top 8c bottom rails
  • 2"x2" center brace
  • l"x2" top trim
  • 1" x 3" (max width) fence slats
  • Concrete


FENCE RELOCATION (NEW CONSTRUCTION)

  • Post holes to be approx. 24” deep and, 8” in diameter & approximately 4' on center.  Maximum 6’ O.C.
  • Fill holes with concrete, and set post & allow to dry a minimum of 24 hours.
  • Install post in level & plumb manner at the same height as adjoining fences.
  • Affix top rail to the top of the post & connect to the tops of each post in turn until connected to existing fence sections.
  • Affix 1x2's to the underside of the top rail, leaving appropriate space for thickness of fence slat material.
  • Affix the  2x3 center brace, approx. 36" off the ground (minor adjustments may be necessary to line up the center brace with adjacent fence sections) & flush with the back edge of the post.
  • Affix the inside rail in a level line with existing fence sections.
  • Install the fence slats, securing them through the lx2’s at the top, to the 2x3 in the center & to the inside bottom rail. NOTE: On back fences, slats are to be spaced approx. 1/2" apart or solid with no gaps.  On side fences there are no spaces between slats.
  • Affix the outside bottom rail, keeping it level with the inside bottom rail.



FILL IN HALF SECTIONS:

  • For each half section, measure from post to post.
  • Cut 4 each lx2's (2 for the top & 2 for the bottom)
  • Measure from the existing half section top rail to the fence top rail to get the length of the slats.
  • Sandwich slats between lx2's top & bottom with approx. 1/2" gap and nail through.
  • Nail completed sections to the top of the top rail of the existing half section & to the underside of the top fence rail.
  • Paint assigned color.
